On Line Training:
Nearly all BSA Training is available on Line at MyScouting.Org
While classroom training does have certain advantages, not the least of which is practical application and interaction with other adult leaders, fulfilling your training requirements on line is perfectly acceptable for most courses that do not have a specific outdoor element. Attached, please find an easy guide for on-line training. With the exception of Youth Protection Training, you will need your BSA ID number to create a user account. Youth Protection can be taken without a BSA ID.

LEADER RESOURCES
Tour Permits
All events planned at a location other than our regular Troop meeting place will require a Tour Permit. Tour permits should be filed two weeks before an event. Effective March 1st, there will be a new Tour Planning Worksheet required for each event ... see note from our district Executive below.
New Tour Planning Worksheet ... This replaces the old Tour permit. See note from our District Executive and Worksheet attached below:
Dear Bill Hart Leaders,
Attached is a copy of the new Tour Planning Worksheet.
This supersedes the existing Tour Permits, effective March 1st, 2011.
The on-line system is being revamped to work alongside with this new Worksheet.
Like everything else that’s new – this is going to take some time to get used to.
Please review and share this with the Leaders in you Unit.
I will be available at Round Table Thursday to answer any questions.
Yours in Scouting!
JEFF PRATA
Recently updated “Guide to Safe Scouting” is a vital tool for Scout leaders, but it doesn't do you much good if it’s on the coffee table and you're at a troop meeting or on a campout.
So now, thanks to the wonders of modern technology, you can take the “Guide to Safe Scouting” with you wherever you go - no Internet connection required! And the best part? There’s no added cost beyond the iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch you already own.
This doesn't just work with the “Guide,” though. It'll work with any PDF you need to access frequently. It’s a fast, convenient way to keep your guys safe wherever Scouting might take you.
Just follow the five steps after the jump to get the “Guide” (or any PDF) on your iOS device.
The recently updated (20110 comprehensive policies and procedures manual, available online, is a one-stop safety shop for packs, troops, teams, and crews. Even if you're familiar with past versions of the Guide, BSA Health and Safety and Risk Management experts recommend re-reading it to make sure you're up to date on the latest policies.
If you're new to the Boy Scouts of America, now is the time to familiarize yourself with proper safety practices. |
